A woman seeking deeper knowledge of Islam

Question

I have a little knowledge about the Islaamic way of life. How do a woman seeking deeper knowledge of Islaam become a Muslim?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

First of all we thank the questioner for visiting our site and we hope that she will find in it what will help her discover the truth.

You have to know that Allaah does not accept any religion other than Islam. Indeed Islam is the religion of all the Prophets, may Allaah exalt their mention, starting from Aadam and finishing with Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ). Islam means submission to the Oneness of Allaah, as None has the right to be worshipped but Him, and obedience to His orders, and innocence from associating partners with Him and free from those who associate partners with Him. This was the matter of all the Prophets, may Allaah exalt their mention. All of them used to worship Allaah alone without associating any partners with Him, and used to call their people to that and warn them against associating partners with Him. Allaah says quoting 'Eesaa (Jesus) (interpretation of the meaning): {The Messiah has said, “O Children of Israel, worship Allaah, my Lord and your Lord.” Indeed, he who associates others with Allaah - Allaah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.}[5:72]. This is the reality of Islam. Allaah concluded the revelation by Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) who called the people to worship Allaah alone without associating with Him any partners, exactly in the same manner as the Prophets, may Allaah exalt their mention, did before him. Allaah says: (interpretation of the meaning): {And We did not send any Messenger before you, O Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) but We inspired him (saying): Laa ilaaha illaa Anaa [none has the right to be worshipped but I (Allaah)], so worship Me (Alone and none else).}[21:25].

Allaah sent Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) to all the people without exception, Allaah says: (interpretation of the meaning): {Say (O Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention )): "O mankind! Verily, I am sent to you all as the Messenger of Allaah.}[7:158]. Allaah further says: (interpretation of the meaning): {And We have sent you (O Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention )) not but as a mercy for the 'Alamîn (mankind, jinns and all that exists).}[21: 107]. So whoever has believed in Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) has indeed believed in all the Prophets, may Allaah exalt their mention, and whoever has disbelieved in him, has indeed disbelieved in all the Prophets. Disbelieving in one Prophet, means disbelieving in his message which all the Prophets called to. In order to know more about the reality of Islam, please refer to Fatwa: 81979.

Islam is the religion of the natural disposition upon which Allaah created mankind, thus the only thing that a person needs to do is to testify and utter the following declaration: "Ash-hadu allaa Ilaaha Illa Allaah Wa Ash-hadu Anna Muhammadan Rassoolu Allaah'' (I bear witness that None has the right to be worshipped but Allaah and Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is the Messenger of Allaah), and then abide by the Islamic jurisprudence. So take the initiative to embrace Islam before death comes to you, and contact an Islamic Centre to help you in this matter.

Allaah knows best.
