Using the mosque's loud speakers during lectures

Question

I am a devout Muslim (Allaah Knows best) living in a cosmopolitan society. In this society we are over 50% Muslim. Al-hamdulillah no mosque in our town is more than a kilometer apart. The sound of 'Athaan and recitation of the Quran (during Salat) over amplifiers is music to me. Occasionally my non-Muslim neighbours and friends have commented to me (mind you not complained) that other than 'Athaan they find the proceedings of the prayers over the amplification system disturbing, especially so at Fajr time. Some Mosque Imaams even start sermons on the amplification system after the Fajr prayers.
I know and believe that the only way to propagate our Deen is by example by showing how caring and good we are. That how just our systems are. That we make ideal neighbours. That we arouse the curiosity and interest of Kuffar by good example.
I feel a sense of guilt when I hear these “comments”. Can I ask my local Mosque committee to be considerate and amplify only the 'Athaan?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

There is no harm to ask the people who are running the affairs of this mosque not to use the loud speakers for other purposes than the 'Athaan (call to the prayer), Iqaamah, and the prayers especially that there may be a religious benefit in this, and so that the people's feelings would be respected.

Allaah Knows best.
