Question
I want to know how Hadeeth Al-Qudsi was revealed to Prophet Muhammad, sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam? Was it through Jibreel as or was it Ilqaa? And how other Hadeeth were revealed to him?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
Some scholars
mentioned that a Qudsi narration is revealed by Allaah to the Prophet 
by one of the ways of revelation other than through Jibreel (Gabriel) 
either by inspiration, insight (instillation in the heart or mind), or a dream. As regards other narrations, they are also a revelation as Allaah described the Prophet Saying (what means): {Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. It is only an inspiration that is inspired.}[Quran 53:3-4]. However, some narrations could be by way of revelation like inspiration or insight, and some of it is an explanation from the Prophet of some Quranic verses, or an Ijtihaad (an opinion on matters which were not specified in the Quran) from him, and then Allaah confirms it for him, and it becomes revelation.
