The first thing a person will be accounted for regarding the rights of Allaah and the rights of people

Question

Is there any narration of the Prophet, sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam, which says that the first thing a woman will be accounted for is about her husband's rights on her?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

We have not come across a narration which suggests that the first thing a woman will be accounted for is her husband's rights on her. Rather, we found that the acts of a person are of two kinds: the rights of Allaah and the rights of people.

The rights of Allaah: The first thing a person will be accounted for is the prayer as the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "The first thing a person will be accounted for on the day of Judgement is his prayer." [An-Nasaa'ee and At-Tirmithi]

The rights of people: The first thing a person will be accounted for is about blood [killing people]. 'Abdullaah may Allaah be pleased with him narrated that the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "The first thing people will be accounted for about their rights from other people is blood [shedding people's blood]". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Allaah Knows best.
