Texts prove that a martyr intercedes on the Day of Judgment

Question

What is the ruling of the intercession of a martyr on the Day of Judgment?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

There are many authentic narrations which prove that the martyrs intercede for other people, each according to his status. For instance Abu Ad-Dardaa' may Allaah be pleased with him narrated: "I heard the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) saying: "A martyr intercedes for seventy people of his family." [Ibn Hibbaan] Furthermore, the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "The angels, the Prophets and the martyrs will be given permission to intercede, and they will intercede…" [Ahmad]

Allaah Knows best.
