Wants to issue a monthly journal about Islam and distribute it in the streets

Question

Assalam Alaikum, I am a muslim live in Canada, I have an idea of doing monthly journal about islam and spread it on the streets. I know many people will through these journals in the garbage. since these journals contain the name of Allah and his prophit is that ok to put my idea in practice?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

First of all, we thank you for being keen to call people to the religion of Allaah in a non-Muslim country, and we ask Allaah to make you beneficial and enable you to do all that which is good.

As regards your question whether or not it is permissible to put your idea into practice, then the answer is yes. It is permissible to do so and you will be rewarded for doing it, Allaah willing, if you do it sincerely for the sake of Allaah.

With regard to the possibility of some people trashing the journal and the like, then the solution for this is not to write any verses of the Quran or any of the Names of Allaah in Arabic language. You should only write the translation in the target language. You may draw the attention of the reader to respect it as it contains religious issues. Even though the translation is respected, it is not like the Arabic text of the Quran. Therefore, it is permissible to write the translation of religious issues for necessity, even though it might be subjected to misuse.

If we say that this is not permissible, then calling people to Allaah would stop in this regard. Besides, the responsibility of misusing the journal falls upon those who misuse it after being warned about it.

Allaah Knows best.
