Quran Holder Book Stand Is Not an Innovation

Question

Assalamu Alaikum. What is the ruling on the Quran stand as in the following image (https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61vcmna41kL._AC_SL1001_.jpg). Is it considered a bid'ah? When would it be considered a bid'ah? Would it be considered a bid'ah if it is used when not needed? Jazak Allahu khairan.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

There is no doubt that using the Quran holder book stand is not an innovation, as it is not a pure act of worship so that it can be said that it is an innovation. Rather, the holder book stand is a permissible means for reading the Quran – and other books – like all other permissible means that are used in worship and customs, such as the prayer mat that can be used to pray on or for other uses, and such as the microphone that can be used to recite the Quran with, or to say any other permissible or forbidden words.

Such means that are used in worship are not innovations without any problem at all.

Allah knows best.
