Using copies of CDs
What is the ruling on buying a CD that contains Islamic information that I need? When I start the CD I find the oath, “I swear by Allaah The Most High and the Most Great that this copy is original and I have purchased it.” The fact is that I did not buy an original copy. If I buy an original ebook from lets say amazon.com, then after am finished with it I store it online to share with anyone who needs to download. Playing a pirated computer game until being able to buy an original one

Used copied software and wants to repent

Apologies for sending the question on the same topic again since I missied out some key points in the last question which I sent on the same issue.
Is the excuse that softwares(e.g.Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop) are very expensive valid given by the one who uses pirated versions of these. Does anyone have a right in Islam to use.. More

Renting and borrowing pirated books
I have read all your fatwas regarding intellectual copyrights and understand that intentionally 'buying' pirated books is forbidden, but is 'borrowing' or 'renting' such books intentionally also prohibited?
In my town there is a rental library that rents pirated books, is it okay if i take these pirated books on rent? Also can i borrow pirated copies.. More

Ticking the box “I have read the agreement” when installing software

Benefitting from copyrighted materials while believing that their publishing is not permissible
Asalaam alaykum, From what i understood from the previous fatwas, is that making copies of copyrighted CDs in not permissible. However, some websites (who believe there is no Copyright in Islaam) have uploaded these CD's onto the internet for people to listen to / download. Is it ok for me to listen to these online lectures or should I abstain? Jazakum.. More

Stopped buying pirated CD's but has a big quantity of them
Assalamu Alaikum. I useto buy pirayed CD's as they are common practice and are widely accepted. Since Recently, i came to the realization that these CD's may be Haram and may even fall under the category of "Stolen". So, now i dont buy pirated cd's and am opposed to piracy.
