I know that drawing /painting/ people are animals is a Haraam. What about calligraphy which sometimes draws animals /Arabic letters in the form of an animal/and taking pictures with a camera, is it Haraam?.. More

Drawing cartoons for children's books for his survival
I am an American convert to Islam before I took Shahaadah I was a cartoonist. After I took my Shahaadah I stopped drawing because I saw it as Haraam. After a lapse of 8 years I have had a stroke paralyzing my left side, and drawing children's books is my only way to make a living for I have no other skills.

Ruling on pictures
My question is about making pictures. I work for an INGO here in Pakistan. We produce reports to our donors and there we have to place pictures as that's the requirement by the donors. Plants, animals and their after life
According to Hadith we cannot draw pictures of living beings. But today we know that plants have also life and latest studies say that plants can also feel pain. The Hadith which forbids pictures mentions living beings with souls. Is that why we are allowed to draw sceneries as plants do not have souls though they have life? We cannot draw animals.. More

Angels avoid homes with picture of living creatures
