Asking other Muslims to supplicate for her to get pregnant

Question

Salam Alaykom. I wanted to know- is it permissable to tell a friend or other close person to pray for me for something I want in this life...ie, if my muslimah friend wants me to pray for her to get a house soon, is this allowed? What about also if I ask her to pray for me that I get pregnant soon, even though I am praying for the same thing? Is this acceptable? I understand that everything is in Allah's hands, wa naimi bi'allah. Jazak'allah khair.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

It is permissible for a Muslim to ask his/her fellow Muslim to supplicate for him/her in regard to any worldly matter or any matter of the Hereafter.

For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 103129.

We ask Allaah to bless you with righteous progeny as He is The Hearer of supplication, and we ask Allaah to facilitate the matter for your Muslim sister in finding a house in a permissible way.

Allaah Knows best.
