Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

We are not aware of any narration from the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) with the meaning that you mentioned in the question, however, it is confirmed that the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: Allaah has added one more prayer for you, which is the Witr prayer, so perform it between the ‘Ishaa’ prayer and the Fajr prayer.” [Ahmad]

It is also confirmed that the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: Whoever fears that he may not wake up in the last part of the night, then he should perform the Witr prayer in the first part of the night, but if someone wishes to wake up in its last part, then he should perform the Witr prayer in the last part of the night, because the prayer in the last part of the night is witnessed (by angels) and that is preferable.” [Muslim]

Allaah Knows best.
