What is the ruling on specifying the third day after burial to visit the graves? What are the characteristics of the Sharee‘ah-approved grave?

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

Visiting graves is permissible at any time, and all days are similar in this regard. There is no merit for one certain day over another. It was not proven that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, specified the third day after burial as a time to visit the graves. Therefore, specifying this day is a religious innovation.
