Question
I am 15 years old and I feel that I am a loser and an unsuccessful person. What should I do?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
First, we ask Allaah The Almighty to guide you to be keen on all that is beneficial. Then, we assure you that you are not a failure, Allaah willing.
You are still at the outset of youth, and this is a time to accomplish a great deal of good. Hence, take the initiative, make use of your time, and be keen on what is beneficial for you. Start by acquiring beneficial knowledge related to the world and the Hereafter. Accompany scholars and seekers of knowledge, because this will strengthen your determination and encourage you to try to reach the best objectives.
Beware of bad friends who dishearten you and waste your time. We supplicate Allaah The Exalted to help you achieve your dreams.
Finally, we thank you for these noble feelings and sentiments, because your query is proof that the Muslim youth are still keen on achieving success and pursuing great objectives, to be distinguished from the petty and lazy people who are satisfied with leading a bestial life, caring only for food and carnal desires.
