Question
Is magic by using a Jinn correct, meaning doing magic to a person and making use of a Jinni by making the person possessed by him as a means of magic? Can magic spell be undone if the Jinni leaves the body of the possessed person?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.
Ibn Taymiyyah 
stated the impermissible use of jinn, among which is using them in magic. This means using the jinn in forbidden matters or using them with forbidden means, like for killing a person or rendering him sick without any right, or preventing a person from having sexual intercourse with his wife, or causing a person to hate someone or making a person whom one loves attracted to him. All this is magic.
Many people who are not magicians, could do many acts that are in concordance with the desires of the devil, such as acts of Shirk (associate partners with Allaah) and Bid‘ah (religious innovation), a misguidance, an injustice or fornication or adultery, and consequently, the devils would serve him to achieve what they want.
Also, they (Jinn) may inform such a person about some matters of the unseen which they saw or heard of. They may also enter the human body. The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said that the devil runs in human blood vessels like blood does. [Bukhari and Muslim]
Treating a possessed person:
1- If a Muslim is able to address the Jinni, he should ask him to leave the body of the possessed person, and clarify to him the ruling of Allaah about this matter, and that possessing a person is an injustice and a transgression which he is not permitted to do. It was reported that a possessed child was brought to the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, who ordered the Jinni to leave the body of the child, telling him ''Get out, o, you, enemy of Allaah'', and the child was cured. [Ahmad and Al-Bayhaqi]
2- If the knots on which the spell was incanted could be found, then they should be taken out and destroyed; this should undo the spell. This is the most effective cure for the possessed person.
3- Treating the person with Ruqyah, legislated mention of Allaah including seeking refuge in Him from the devil, [by reciting chapters 112 and 113 of the Quran] and using permissible medicines and supplications.
