Taking flowers when visiting a patient

Question

Some people when visiting a patient take flowers with them. Is this conduct considered an imitation of the People of the Book?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

One should not take flowers or roses when visiting a patient as this is imitating the non-Muslims who are accustomed to doing this.

Allaah Knows best.
