Revealing the reality about the Ahbash with wisdom

Question

The Ahbaash are a deviant group and a reliable source told me that they have Masonic connections. Is this true? They were allocated a special place for prayer at the Islamic centers in a Western country. Sometimes we think about revealing their reality and scandalizing them, but we fear this might have negative effects on those who want to embrace Islam, especially if they see such division and enmity. Please, advise.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

Undoubtedly, the Ahbash are a deviant and misguided group as stated in Fataawa 84336 and 91557, but we cannot say that they have Masonic links without clear evidence, which we do not have.

It is enough for you to highlight their apparent deviant state that is clear in their sayings and actions if you want to warn people against them. By doing so, you will not turn away those who want to embrace Islam if you explain their deviation wisely and in a scholarly manner. In fact, corruption lies in keeping quiet about them and new converts may be deceived by them.

Therefore, you must warn people against them and disclose their reality seeking the assistance of the scholars who are well aware of their state.

Allaah Knows best.
