The Hadeeth: 'Allaah will soon make you inherit their land ...'

Question

How Authentic is this hadith "You see, God will soon make you inherit their land, their treasures and make you sleep with their women" recorded by Ibn Hisham on page 182 Vol. II, of his famous book, "Al Rod Al Anf"

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

This Hadeeth is weak (Dha'eef). Al-‘Uqayli may Allaah have mercy upon him said in his book Adh-Dhu‘afaa’ after citing the Hadeeth: “This Hadeeth has no basis and was not passed down through any reliable chain of transmission except as a Mursal Hadeeth (a Hadeeth narrated by a Tabi’i [successor of the Prophet’s Companions]) in Maghaazi Al-Waaqidi and others."

Al-Bayhaqi may Allaah have mercy upon him said in his book Dalaa’il An-Nubuwwah, 'Al-Hasan ibn Saahib said: "This Hadeeth was reported on my authority through Abu Haatim Ar-Raazi." It was also reported by Muhammad ibn Zakariyya Al-Ghallaabi who is considered Matrook (rejected) from Shu‘ayb ibn Waaqid who narrated it on the authority of Abaan ibn ‘Abdullaah Al-Bajali .'”

He also said, “It was narrated by another unknown chain of narrators through Ubaan ibn Taghlib.”

Al-Albaani may Allaah have mercy upon him labeled it as weak in his book As-Silsilah Adh-Dha‘eefah, no. 6457.

Allaah Knows best.
