Fatwa CenterHadeeth: 'Three people whose prayers will not be accepted...'
Question
Aslamu Alaikum, Can you please authenticate the following hadith for me: "Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) related, “There are three people whose prayers will not be accepted by Allah, nor do any good deed of theirs risen up to heaven: a fleeing slave until he returns to his master and helps him, a woman whose husband is angry with her until he is pleased with her, and a drunkard until he becomes conscious.” (Ibn Hibban)" Jazakallah.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
This narration by Jaabir 
was classified by Al-Albaani as Dha‘eef (weak) in his Dha‘eef Al-Jaami‘ As-Sagheer and Dha‘eef At-Targheeb wa-t-Tarheeb.
There is another Hadeeth with the same meaning as the above Hadeeth from Abu Umaamah which reads: The Messenger of Allaah 
said: "There are three types of people whose prayers will not ascend further than their ears: a runaway slave until he returns to his master, a woman whose husband spends the night angry with her, and an Imaam (in prayer) who leads people while they hate him." It was classified by Al-Albaani as Hasan (Good) in Saheeh At-Targheeb wa-t-Tarheeb.
