Performing ablution during Friday sermon for one who suffers incontinence

Question

Assalaamu alaykum. I have a problem regarding urinary incontinence. Drops of urine come out while doing some physical activities (bending down for example). The leakage is mild, and after about an hour, it stops for a period just long enough to perform the prayer (often, but not always). From my understanding, I am obliged to wait until that period comes and perfom the prayer without thinking about leakage, even if it happens. When it comes to the Friday prayer, renewing my ablution just before the prayer (an hour after urination) is inconvenient because of the crowd, the varying length of the sermons, and the lack of time between the sermon and the prayer. Also, sometimes I am not able to go to the toilet in time. How should I perform the Friday prayer correctly considering the above-mentioned inconveniences? Is it acceptable to stand up in the middle of the sermon and perform ablution (when the crowd is not that big)? I hope I was clear enough, and I would greatly appreciate the answer.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

If the situation is as you described, then what you are obliged to do is as you mentioned: that you wait until the urine stops to come out so that you perform the prayer with proper purification. You should relieve yourself before the Friday prayer with enough time to purify yourself properly and perform the prayer in a state of valid ritual purity. If your state of purity is invalidated, you are obliged to renew it before performing the prayer. There is no harm on you to stand up to perform ablution during the sermon if you cannot do otherwise.

Allah knows best.
