Singing rap lyrics about the devil

Question

I suffer from Waswaas (obsessive whisperings) very badly, just to let you know. I was singing a song and rapping. The lyrics were either, "Shaytaan, make amends for me or with me," or "Shaytaan, I will make amends with you." I am 99% sure that I did not sing or rap these lines, but if I did, would that constitute witchcraft or magic? Please try to help.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

You should totally ignore Waswaas (obsessive whispering). As long as you believe that you most likely did not sing these lines, you bear no sin for that. Even if you did sing them, it would not be considered witchcraft or magic. However, such speech is prohibited, and this kind of songs is rarely free of immoral and un-Islamic lyrics. So you should stop listening to them and ignore Waswaas and give it no attention at all.

Allah knows best.
