'If the faith of Abu Bakr is weighed...' not a prophetic narration

Question

Is the following Hadeeth authentic: "If the faith of Abu Bakr is put on one side of the scale and the faith of all people is put on the other side, the side of Abu Bakr will outweigh that of all people"?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

This Hadeeth was attributed to ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattaab may Allaah be pleased with him with an authentic chain of narrators by Al-Bayhaqi. It was also narrated by Al-Haakim At-Tirmithi Is-Haaq Ibn Raahawayh and Ahmad Ibn Hanbal. Ibn ‘Adi narrated it attributing it to the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, as a Marfoo‘ Hadeeth, but his attribution is Dha‘eef (weak).

Allaah Knows best.
