Whispers on Ritual Purity

Question

AAssalam Alaikum. After urinating, drops of urine spalshes on my body. Then I have to pour water over most of my body most of the time.... Arms, legs up to knees (almost everytime), sometimes over my head (this is also happenin frequently now and my hair smells frequently now !!) Below shoulders (almost everytime) I do dry my hair but it smells because this is happening frequently and i have to do wudhu also and I am working for it too So my question is i feel like bathing after urinating. I have to urinate more than 1 time everytime i go to bathroom to urinate. During the first time most of the body needs to be poured water. And I feel the prophet (pbuh) also did not do this. I feel like a mad person. what is the solution? It is known from a hadith a person was punished in the grave because he was not careful about urine. Forgive me for being plain in asking quesitons. But i believe i have to tell the problem plainly to find the solution. Ok well u can say I have OCD. About 2-3 hours I spend in bathroom to do Ghusl. In those hours i go to bathroom, wudhu and do ghusl and do other things. And it takes more time to do wudhu also. Dont give me easy way to follow because of OCD. But please give me the actual solution as in Quran and Sunnah. Jazakumullah Khairan

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

The solution for this problem, according to the texts in the Quran and the Sunnah, is to ignore these whispers, repel them and not to pay attention to them. You do not have to wash your body after urinating. Rather, it is not legislated for you to wash any part of your body except the area of impurity. It is not legislated for you to wash any part that you doubt whether or not impurity has touched it.

It is impossible for urine to reach the arms and the legs, let alone the head. These are all whispers from the devil which he casts in order to spoil your life and make it miserable.

The issue of Ghusl (ritual bath) is easy, and all you have to do is pour water over your body until you feel that you have predominantly covered it all. This is how you purify your body and achieve purity, and it should not take more than few minutes for those who are afflicted with whispers.

Therefore, the mission that you need to focus on and the battle that you must fight is against these whispers. You should ignore them and not give in to them, while seeking the help of Allah and asking His support in order to achieve this goal.

You can reads some of the advisories we have on our site on this issue. We ask Allah to cure you.

Allah knows best.
