Seeing the Prophet, the Companions and the Righteous in Paradise

Question

Al Salam AlaykomI always wondered, If I Inshallah go to Janna, Can I see the prophet and the sahaba and meet them, and talk to them in Janna? Jazakum Allah kheir.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

The people of Paradise will exchange visits and see one another therein. This means that the believers will see the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, his household, his Companions, as well as those whom they love from the believers who will be admitted to Paradise. Everyone who obeys Allah, The Exalted, and loves his Messenger, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, and his household and Companions will enter Paradise with them and see them therein.

‘Aa’ishah may Allaah be pleased with her reported: "A man came to the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! By Allah, you are dearer to me than myself! You are dearer to me than my family! You are dearer to me than my children! When I am at home and I remember you, I can hardly endure my longing for you until I come and look at you. When I remember that I will die and you will die, I know that you will enter Paradise and be in a higher rank with the Prophets, while I, if I shall enter Paradise, I fear that I would not see you therein!’ The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, did not respond until the following verse was revealed (which means): {And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger – those will be with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions.} [Quran 4:69]" [At-Tabaraani]

In his commentary on the verse, Al-Qurtubi may Allaah have mercy upon him said: “{those will be with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor} means they shall be with them in the same abode (i.e. Paradise), relishing the same bliss and enjoying seeing them and being with them. However, this does not mean that they shall be in the same rank in Paradise. They will be in different ranks, but they will exchange visits with them because they followed their guidance and example in this worldly life.” [End of quote]

Allah Knows best.
