Has Whispers about Kufr and Apostasy

Question

If one does shirk or kufr and repent from it what happens to his marriage? no one knows this sin except him. what will happen if he does shirk and kufr again? If he needs new marriage contact he has to expose his sins to many people , is it permissible

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

It appears from your previous questions that you are affected with whispers about Kufr and apostasy, so we advise you to avoid these whispers and not pay any attention to them.

In any case, Shaykh Ibn Taymiyyah may Allaah have mercy upon him chose the view that the marriage is not invalidated by the apostasy of one of the spouses – even after the expiry of the waiting period – but the marriage remains suspended; if the apostate returns to Islam, the marriage remains and does not need a new contract.

So, you should act according to this view as a way of blocking whispers. A person who is obsessed and affected by whispers is permitted to act according to concessions and easiest matters so that he does not increase in whispers.

Tuhfatul-Muhtaj reads:

It is more appropriate for whoever is affected with whispers to act according to concessions and easiest matters so that he does not increase in whispers and does matters that do not have any foundation in religion.” [End of quote]

Allah Knows best.
