The only purpose for the boys of paradise is to serve the people of Paradise

Question

I have a very close friend who is quite religious. He performs prayers regularly, performs different acts of worship and does good deeds. He always speaks about the description of the blessings of Paradise such as the Hoor and the boys of everlasting youth. The problem is that he has a misunderstanding about the verse {There will circulate among them young boys made eternal}. He always speaks to me about the interpretation of this verse. He says that he found some information from the internet and asked some scholars about its meaning and they had different opinions regarding it. The gravest thing is that he said that some of them are of the opinion that the Muslim can enjoy looking at these boys of everlasting youth. Rather, he went far beyond this and said that the people of Paradise can enjoy these boys sexually (may Allaah protect us from such things). I advised him to turn to Allaah in repentance and give up such ideas. However, he insists on believing in them because of some Fatwas from an unknown source. Please, could you tell me how I can convince him to give up such ideas and repent to Allaah? I fear that he will die with such ideas of disbelief.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

Books of Sunnah and Fiqh are replete with condemnation of homosexuality, considering it as one of the filthiest sins. So how can such things happen in Paradise, which is the place of honor and the highest degree of happiness? Your friend has made a grave mistake in the way he misunderstood this verse. He should read the books of Tafseer, and he will not find a single scholar supporting these ideas. The beauty of these boys is only a way of increasing the honor of the people of Paradise. The sole purpose of these boys is to serve the people of Paradise. Ibn Katheer may Allaah have mercy upon him said in his Tafseer: “Every one of the people of Paradise will have a thousand servants going around serving him. Every servant will be entrusted with a specific task.

In fact, the wealthy person in the worldly life loves to have good looking servants. Nevertheless, it would be extremely filthy if he thinks of enjoying them sexually. Then how dare someone imagine that from the people of Paradise!

Allaah Knows best.
