Question
What do the sheiks think about using the internet; if it is haram, what is haram about it?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
Internet is only an instrument and there is no ruling on it.
The ruling depends on what is in it and what a person uses it for. If a person uses it in beneficial and useful matters, then it is good and beneficial, like in the field of scientific research or calling people to Islam. But if a person uses it in dissoluteness and corruption, then it is forbidden. It is like poetry: if its content is good, then it is good, and if its content is bad, it is bad.
