Question

I was born with an eye that see 3 by 10 and an eye that see 10 by 10; this now makes many problems in seeing. Can I have an operation on it with laser. Does this conform to Sharia?

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the World; and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
There is no objection to your undergoing this operation provided that the doctor who is going to perform it is known to be well qualified in doing this kind of operation and that this doctor testifies that the probability of the success of this operation is very high. But if there is another means to achieve the same goal, it would be preferable to having this operation.
