She Can't Help Committing Sins

Question

I know that Allah forgives us for all our faults and I really want Allah to forgive me and every day I start to be good I return back to do wrong things which I can't stop completely for example talking with my friends in the college (the males) and listening to music and putting on make up and so many things which I can't control myself and the least example talking about the others .I try to be continuously on (Zikr Allah) but I have a very bad feeling that I am so far away from Allah and the continuous feeling of guilt and that He will punish me. Will Allah punish me if I have done something which is very wrong and then asked him to forgive me?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

Allah, the Exalted, accepts a person's repentance if it meets the following conditions:

1) Giving-up the sin completely.

2) Feeling remorse and showing true regret for having committed the sins.

3) Having sincere determination not to return to wrongdoing.

For more benefit on the conditions of repentance, please refer to Fataawa 86527, 84677 and 82318.

So, if you sincerely repent as explained above, Allah - The Exalted - will accept your repentance and forgive your misdeeds, since He does not break His Promise. Furthermore, pay no attention to the devil's insinuations by which he seeks to prevent you from repentance.

Here are some actions that may help you repent and support you on the straight path:

1) Observance of obligations such as the five daily prayers, fasting the month of Ramadan and so on. Then, it is beneficial to increase your supererogatory deeds.

2) Keeping good company of righteous women who prompt others to good deeds.

3) Keeping away from places of lusts and temptation.

4) Putting an end to prohibited relations with males and avoid mixing with them, since this constitutes a source of great evil.

5) Increasing Allah's remembrance.

6) Praying to Allah, The Exalted, to help you on the right path and to remove your distress.

We ask Allah to guide us and you to do what pleases Him.

Allah knows best.
