Wants a Marriage Proposal

Question

I am a young Muslim girl. I believe I am rather gifted by Allah. I have the ability to just notice things that others can't, and often my dreams come true, in which I am often visited by the dead.I was just wondering, is there any saying or any evidence that every girl shall get married or, in any case, receive proposals?I have received a couple, but none to my liking. The one I am interested in, seems like its going to take sometime. Is there anything I can do in an Halal way to ensure my heart I will find love?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

Know that all faculties (genius, cleverness, …) that are Divine grants do not constitute a substitute for marriage. Marriage is one of Allah's Signs and blessings on His Creatures and the practice of all Prophets, Messengers and the righteous people.

Marriage is, in truth, one of the Divine Norms that organize this universe.

Allah Says (what means):

• {And of all things We created two mates; perhaps you will remember.} [Quran 51:49]

• {Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know.} [Quran 36:36]

As for the Sharee’ah ruling of marriage, this is different from one person to another. In some cases, it is an obligation; sometimes it is recommendable; sometimes it is forbidden, at times it is disliked; and at other times, it is permissible.

Our advice is, if a righteous religious man, whose character is good, asks for your hand, then you should accept him as a husband for the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: “If a man whose religion and moral conduct are pleasing to you proposes to you, then let him marry; otherwise there will be great mischief and corruption on earth.” [At-Tirmithi]

Another Hadeeth recommends the young to marry: “O young people, whoever is able to marry should marry as it helps him lower his gaze and protect his private parts (from committing illegal sexual intercourse).” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

However, we state that marriage is full of goodness since Allah has made it lawful and the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) recommended it.

Allah Says (what means): {And marry the unmarried among you and the righteous among your male slaves and female slaves. If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty, and Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.} [Quran 24: 32]

The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) also said: “Marry the friendly and prolific woman, as I will outnumber other nations by you (by your abundant number) [on the Day of Judgment].” [Ahmad, Abu Daawood and Al-Bayhaqi]

In addition, marital life is full of love, enjoyment and familiarity and no one knows this except the married one.

Allah Says (what means): {And among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect.} [Quran 30: 21]

Allah knows best.
