Question
Which one do you think is better for Islamic/Hadith studies, Islamic University Madinah or Imam University Riyadh? I heard Riyadh is better for studies in the sense that there are more scholars there. I would appreciate your opinion in this regard. Plus I plan to go to Saudi this summer; can you go and apply there any time of the year?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. As per our knowledge both universities follow the same method in teaching Hadith or other Islamic subjects. There is no considerable difference between them. So, you may join either. Know that only studying in a university is not sufficient to get the required knowledge; in addition, you should join the study circles that are in Masjid al-Nabawi, or elsewhere. As for the procedure of admissions, please consult their website or contact the board of admissions. They will help you, Insha Allah. Allah knows best.
