Question

I want to know authenticity of following Ahadith: 1) Umar (Radiya Allahu Anhu) narrated that Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) taught this Du'a: Allahum-maj 'Al-Sarrerati Khayram Min 'Ala Niyati Waj 'al 'Ala Niyati Saliha - Allahumma Inni Asaluka Min Salihi Ma Tu'tin Nasa Min al-Ahli Wal Mali Wal Waladi Gayzidh Dhali Wal al-mudhilli. (At-Tirmidhi) 2) Umm-e-Ma'bad (Radiya Allahu Anha) narrated that she heard Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) making this Du'a: 'Allahumma Tahhir Qalbi Minan Nifaqi Wa 'Amali Min ar-Riyaai Wa Lisani Minal Kadhibi Wa 'Aynee Minal Khiyanati Fa Innaka Ta'lamu Kha Inatal A'yuni Wa Ma Tukhfis Sudoor'. (Baihaqi)

Answer

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. Sheikh al-Albani believes that both Hadith are weak. He graded the first Hadith as weak in his study of Sunan Al-Tirmizi . The number of this Hadith in the collection of weak Hadith of the Jami'e Saghir is: 4097. As for the second Hadith, its number is: 1209. Allah knows best.
