Persisting on committing sins

Question

Does Allah become angry with someone every time he commits a sin?

Answer

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

Committing sins is a cause of the wrath of Allaah. Any person who continues to sin deserves the punishment of Allaah. In fact, persisting in sin could turn the minor sin into a major sin. It is reported that Ibn Abbas said: "No major sin is major if repented from and no minor sin is minor if persisted on". (Al-Baihaqi)

So anyone who happens to fall in sins should hasten to repent from them to avoid dying abruptly while committing a sin.

Allaah Says (interpretation of meaning): "And turn in repentance and in obedience with true Faith (Islâmic Monotheism) to your Lord and submit to Him, (in Islâm), before the torment comes upon you, then you will not be helped. (Az-Zumar 39:54)

You should know that repentance has some conditions that should be met so that the repentance becomes valid:

· Giving up the sin completely.

· Regretting to have committed it in the first place.

· Having firm resolution never to commit it again.

And any one who is sincere in his repentance Allaah forgives him/her.

Allaah knows best.
