Virtue of performing Dhuha prayer

Question

1. How do we perform Ad-Duha prayer? 2. Often being told by pious people that Ad-Duha can bring prosperity if you perform it regularly. Is there any sahih? 3. How do we recite Du'a in our sujud and rukuk?I'm very confuse, we have been taught on reciting Du'a after Salah with open hands.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

We are not aware of any narration of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) that Dhuha prayer brings provisions. However, performing Dhuha prayer is included in the acts of piety and righteousness. Allaah Says (what means): {… And whosoever fears Allaah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine.}[Quran 65:2-3]. Also, performing the Dhuha prayer is considered as being grateful and thankful to Allaah. Allaah Says (what means): {If you give thanks (by accepting Faith and worshipping none but Allaah), I will give you more (of My Blessings),}[Quran 14:7].

As regards how to perform the Dhuha prayer, how many Rak'as and its time, then please refer to Fataawa 84719, 84889 and 91029.

Concerning the mention of Allaah when bowing and prostrating in the Dhuha prayer, it is the same as in other prayers. For more benefit on this, please refer to Fataawa 90553, 90357 and 88987.

With regard to supplicating when finishing the prayer and the ruling of raising the hands after the prayer, please refer to Fataawa 85058 and 84676.

Allaah Knows best.
