Question
What is meant by Al-Hawaariyoon in the Quran?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad is His Slave and Messenger 
as well as that of his family and all his companions.
The word Al-Hawaariyoon is mentioned in the Quran more than once. They are the disciples of 'Eesaa (Jesus) who supported him in calling to Allaah and in conveying the message. They are called Al-Hawaariyoon (disciples) for their sincerity in supporting 'Eesaa (Jesus) and giving advice to him when he asked their support. Allaah Says (what means): {"Who are my supporters for [the cause of] Allaah?” The disciples said, “We are supporters for Allaah. We have believed in Allaah and testify that we are Muslims [submitting to Him].}[Quran 3:52]
