Question
There is a treatment for some diseases with Allaah's Names, could you explain to me the method of treatment?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
The correct way of seeking treatment by use of Allaah's Names is for the patient to supplicate Allaah with His Names like saying: ''O Allaah! Cure me as you are Ash-Shaafi'ee (which implies the One Who cures)", and the like, or reading these Names in water and then drink it, or have a bath with it, or reading it in oil and then apply it to one's body, and so forth. As regards what some people believe in, that each Name of the Names of Allaah, has secrets and characteristics peculiar to it, to an extent that some of them think that each Name has a spiritual servant which serves the person who always says such a Name, or that each disease has a Name that cures it, then all this is speaking on behalf of Allaah without knowledge, as this is not confirmed in the Book of Allaah or the Sunnah of His Prophet
