Question
What are the innovations that are mentioned in the Quran?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
Allaah mentioned in His Book the innovation of monasticism by the Christians which they innovated by themselves, by which they dedicate themselves for worship in their churches and refuse to marry. Allaah Says (what means): {…and monasticism, which they innovated; We did not prescribe it for them except [that they did so] seeking the approval of Allaah. But they did not observe it with due observance.}[Quran 57:27].
