Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

We are ordered to preserve our private parts as Allaah praised the people who have this quality; for instance Allaah Says about His believing Servants who will inherit Paradise (what means): {And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts). Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame.} [Quran 23:5-6]. On the other hand, Allaah forbade all kinds of immorality (fornication, adultery, sodomy), and prohibited all means which lead to it, and he named the means which lead to this immorality fornication and adultery, as a way of repelling people from it. Therefore, you are not permitted to massage your penis or imagine intercourse and the like as you mentioned in the question, whether this imagination is in regard to the wedding night or else.

As regards how to treat thinking about desires, please refer to Fataawa 84232 and 84194, and for sleeping naked, please refer to Fatwa 87404.

Finally, it should be noted that a person is not held accountable for what he sees in dreams or for having wet dreams even if this happens to him so often. However, he should be constant in reciting the mention Allaah and the designated supplications before going to sleep, when waking up from sleep, and the morning and evening mention of Allaah, as this is the real protection against the devil when one is awake or asleep, Allaah willing.

Furthermore, you should avoid indulging in thinking about things which are of no benefit; instead a Muslim should think about the signs of Allaah in this universe and think about the matters that will benefit him in his worldly life and in his religion.

Allaah Knows best.
