One should not praise himself for doing good
Assalaamu alaykum. If we are able to perform good deeds and refrain from sinning, then we thank Allaah for having enabled us to do that; however, if we sin, then we only blame ourselves. Engaging in doubtful matter does not amount to sinning
Assalaamu alaykum. A hadith says that it is a sign of piety to avoid doubtful things.
