No soul will die before achieving its decreed sustenance in full

Question

I was unjustly fired from my job. As a result, I became depressed to the extent that I did improper things, like pulling my hair out with my own hands, as a result of how greatly wronged I felt. I would like to know what I should do.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Him, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

You should know, dear brother, that people’s sustenance is in the Hands of Allaah the Almighty alone, not any human being. Thus, you have to be patient and refrain from doing bad deeds that indicate that you are not satisfied with His decree for you. Allaah the Almighty has told us in the Holy Quran (what means):

· {And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allaah is its provision,} [Quran 11:6]

· {O mankind, remember the favor of Allaah upon you. Is there any creator other than Allaah who provides for you from the heaven and earth? There is no deity except Him, so how are you deluded?} [Quran 35:3]

Moreover, it has been proven that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said that Allaah the Almighty revealed to him that no soul would die before taking its full share of provisions. So, he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, ordered us to fear Him and not seek our livelihood using unlawful means.

You must persevere and resort to Allaah The Almighty, supplicating to Him to ease matters for you, to dispel your grief and grant you something better in return.

Allaah Knows best.
