Question

Asalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim,
What is the ruling on wealth gained/earned while wearing/using haram products which earned through haram wealth before, maybe from working in a bank or maybe from stealing) ?
(a) For example haram bag when being used in your activity, including when you are working, bringing work documents in this bag. What is the ruling on the wealth gained when you use this bag to work (permissible work)? Will it be haram wealth or mixed wealth?
(b) What if it clothes or maybe shoes? and you use it in your daily activity, for example buying electricity token, buying water token, food, etc. Will this make what you bought haram or (mixed haram and halal) ?
What if your family member (who doesnt know) wearing/using those haram products and then buying things, what is the ruling on the things they bought?
Jazakallahu khayr

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

The use of clothing, a bag, shoes and so on does not affect the lawfulness of the money which was earned through permissible ways.

These are nothing but whispers that you must repel and not give in to them, and you should seek refuge in Allah from the evil of the devil.

Allah knows best.
