Fatwa CenterJinn tormented and affected by fire
Question
We know that Allaah punishes sinful people in Hell; (we seek refuge with Allaah from it). What about sinful Jinn, will they be tormented by fire? How will that happen when they are created from fire?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
There is evidence in the Quran that Allaah The Almighty will punish both sinful human beings and Jinn in Hell. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And We have certainly created for Hell many of the Jinn and mankind.}[Quran 7:179]
The fact that they are created from fire does not mean that they will remain as fire. Aadam (Adam) 
was created from soil, then Allaah The Almighty turned him into flesh and blood. Similarly, Jinn were created from fire then they were turned into something else that will be affected when tormented by fire. A good example of this is the fact that mankind was created from clay, however, human beings get hurt if they are hit with clay or dust or if soil gets into their eyes.
