She Moved with the Children Away from Her Husband

Question

Me and my husband fight a lot because of the lack of attention from his side maybe, so I have moved away with the kids although stills married with him and see each other now and then, I miss him terribly, what should I do know?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

Dear sister, you are not allowed to leave your husband's house without his permission. What you did is considered disobedience to your husband while obeying him is your duty. Allah, the Exalted, permitted a husband to take many gradual steps to correct his wife, beginning from giving exhortation, then leaving her alone in bed, and finally beating her lightly. If she returns to normal, then he should not punish her anymore. Allah Says (what means): {But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand.} [Quran 4:34]

The verse approves of the punishment for the disobeying wife until she returns to obedience. However, both the husband and his wife are highly encouraged to tolerate each other's shortcomings and spare no efforts to get nearer to each other, keep the marital ties, and concentrate on raising their children. However, if a husband and wife cannot solve their problems by themselves then they may resort to the help of two good pious mediators to help them live a happy marital life.

Allah knows best.
