Prophet Mohammad was liked to use sweet scent. Nowadays scents are generally made with alcohol. Are these scents correct to use? Does Islam will allow them to used when the characteristics is of alcohol is completely changed?

Accepted Answer

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

If alcohol is completely transformed before mixing it with scent in a way that it is no longer intoxicating, then there is no harm in using this scent as described.

However, if alcohol is added to the scent in its original state but resulting a non-intoxicating matter, this scent will become impure as soon as alcohol is mixed with it (added to it).
