Question
Is it Haraam to talk to your husband online if they are in a different country and use a webcam?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
Yes, it is permissible for a wife to speak to her husband through the net in a manner that permits each to see the other, as this is permissible in principle, on the condition that it is safe and others would not see the wife, especially if she is in a condition that is not permissible for anybody else to see her other than her husband, and the like.
