All parts of halaal animal halaal to eat

Question

Please do not cite other fatwas, please tell me in detail. There are seven things that are haram in a halal animal (goat, sheep, cow, and so on). I would like to know whether the skin, eyes, brain, tongue, ears, nose and so many other things of the animal are edible or not? As for eating the tongue, some people in South-Asian countries do so.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

It is permissible to eat all the parts of a halaal (lawful) animal, without any exception.

Al-Mudawwanah reads, “What is extra to the meat, such as the fat, liver, stomach, heart, lungs, spleen, kidneys, throat, testicles, leg (foot), head and the like, then all this takes the same ruling as meat.

Therefore, you should know that it is permissible to eat the tongue of the animal or its other parts if it is an animal of which we are allowed to eat its meat, such as sheep, goats, and the like.

Allaah knows best.
