Question

Since I became religious my (shyness) has increased very much, I and my face becomes red and sweaty whenever I join the lectures or friends' I want to have surgical operation to get rid of it so, is it ok or if you have any recomendation?

Answer

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
Dear brother,
Do not be worried about your shyness. The perspiration and the flushing of your face might be caused by your getting acquainted with so many new people in a very short period of time and abruptly. Also, some of these new acquaintances might be older than you. This feeling of newness will pass with time when you become more familiar and comfortable to this situation. No, you do not need a surgical operation for this condition. In fact your reaction is a natural one for you, and should not try to get rid of this feeling as shyness (Haya) is always good.
This "feeling" may also be the result of your new way of conducting yourself rather than what you used to do with your friends if such acts were not good. Now that you have changed your behaviour for the better, this feeling may be the good result of your new behaviour. So, you should accept it and not try to get rid of it. Instead, use your leisure time to learn about your religion and study Qur'an since the more you know the more confident you will be when participating in discussions and debates. You may also want to talk to some of you best and closest friends about these new feelings. But, be assured that this feeling will pass in time.
So, you should not worry as this might be Satan mischief to turn you away from the good path you have chosen.
Allah knows best.
