A new revert wants to use her father's first name as her surname
Assalaamu Alaikum,
I am asking this on behalf of a revert sister. Is it acceptable to use the first name of your father as your surname instead of your full family name (for example using bint Roland instead of Kilpatrick). Kilpatrick means servant of Saint Patrick and she feels uncomfortable using it. However she doesn't want to do anything unacceptable.. More

Sexual intercourse in the last ten nights of Ramadan

My wife has got a 5 year old child from her previous marriage. She recently lost his custody and the child has been taken by his father in Egypt.
My wife took our baby and flew to Egypt and does not intend to come back to me before she gets back the custody (if she does get it at all!!)
